2.0.1 Released

A small bug fix release for the recently released 2.0.0 is now available for download.
This release fixes a small handful of small bugs, a long with one possible security issue and bug in the Contact module. As always, we highly recommend upgrading your current installation to the latest version. For more details on these changes, please see the ChangeLog.
2.0 "Chipmunk" Released

We are extremely pleased to announce that the latest version of TangoCMS, 2.0 "Chipmunk" has been officially released! Upgrading (or a fresh install) to TangoCMS 2.0 is highly advised, as the previous 1.0.x series (Osprey) will no longer be supported.
So what's changed?
Originally it was planned that 2.0 would include a lot of features such as RSS feeds, i18n, caching etc (see the Blueprints for 2.0-chipmunk). However, as described in a previous article, changes to our release model has meant many of those features did not get implemented, but will instead filter down in through later versions (such as 2.1, 2.2).
Most of the changes done for 2.0 have been underlying clean ups to the code-base. While these won't directly effect the user, this will allow us to easily build upon the cleaner framework to provide all of the functionality previously planned for 2.0. There are however some nice small additions that have been implemented for 2.0! A small list of them is below, however please see the Features page for a more detailed overview:

Upgrading
Users of the previous 1.0.x series (Osprey) can easily fully upgrade to 2.0.0, for more details on this please see the Manual for Upgrading to 2.0.0.

2.0 Release Candidate

The first (and most probably, the last) release candidate for the upcoming TangoCMS 2.0, is now available for Download. Now that we have entered the release candidate stage, it will be fully supported for production use (however we still would advise you wait roughly 1 week for the final release).
Changes and Bug Hunting
Many small changes have taken place since the release of 2.0-beta1 on the 11th May 2008. These have primarily been small tweaks throughout the TangoCMS modules, giving them a lot of polishing and tests to find bugs - as well as UI consistency tweaks and improvements. Overall this will bring TangoCMS 2.0 to be a very polished and stable release, a great improvement over the current 1.0.x series.
There are just a handful of bugs left to work out, which should bring us nicely into the final release of TangoCMS 2.0 sometime next week, most likely on the 31st May 2008.
