We are extremely pleased to announce that the latest version of TangoCMS, 2.0 "Chipmunk" has been officially released! Upgrading (or a fresh install) to TangoCMS 2.0 is highly advised, as the previous 1.0.x series (Osprey) will no longer be supported.

So what's changed?

Originally it was planned that 2.0 would include a lot of features such as RSS feeds, i18n, caching etc (see the Blueprints for 2.0-chipmunk). However, as described in a previous article, changes to our release model has meant many of those features did not get implemented, but will instead filter down in through later versions (such as 2.1, 2.2).

Most of the changes done for 2.0 have been underlying clean ups to the code-base. While these won't directly effect the user, this will allow us to easily build upon the cleaner framework to provide all of the functionality previously planned for 2.0. There are however some nice small additions that have been implemented for 2.0! A small list of them is below, however please see the Features page for a more detailed overview:

• New Theme

Upgrading

Users of the previous 1.0.x series (Osprey) can easily fully upgrade to 2.0.0, for more details on this please see the Manual for Upgrading to 2.0.0.
